Hello! How Do You Do, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Arihat... Best Wishes NOW and for the rest of the year!
How's it all going? Do you have any questions or comments?
Hi Arihat! I went from very steady and healthy blood sugar levels and "highs" that never went over 200 to crazy spikes and a couple times where my blood sugar went into the mid-200s and tried hard to stay there. One of those mid-200 sessions lingered for much of my workday... maybe 5 hours?! It was only a few days later that I tested and got a positive result (and then my blood sugar went over 200 AGAIN that day).
You want to minimize highs as much as possible if you're pregnant, but I learned from my endo that you need to be a little bit "Zen" about it. Don't stress about your high number, just fix it and move on. Stress raises your blood sugar, so you don't want to stress while trying to bring it down.
Well that is so great that you got it down that far that fast. My last a1c was a 7.4 but the two before that were both 7.6. And dont worry soon it will just be like second nature to take your meds and all. soon you will figure out what your own body needs and the way that it reacts to your insulin.
Yea it dose sound like we are i the same boat although I have not got the go ahead yet...I have dropped my a1c down to a 7.4 so I still have a little more to go. As for the metformen I have not been taking it and mainly because it is hard for me to swallow pills and they are so BIG! I haver been on shots for about 7 years and its not that bad although I am trying to get on a pump so that I will have even better control when ttc and during the pregnancy. How old are you? I am 23 and been a diabetic for about 8 years.
Hello all, and thank you so much! I've been visiting this site for a few weeks now, because the discussions are so reassuring. I dont know anyone else with diabetes, and am so relieved to have found you!
