Hi Grayce lou,
well all in all Ben is doing okay. Although things are starting to show up that have me concerned. His appetite is dropping and his stamina is really low. He gets wiped out when we just go to a doc appointment. I am doing fairly well. I have my moments. but I know that God is close by to give me the needed stuff. thanks for your prayers.
I do not know how much I will be online as things are going quickly. Just please ask God for all we need to get through these next few months.
Your pumping friend in MS,
Karen

Hey, Grayce! I've seen you around the Omnipod section of TuDiabetes. Then, I noticed that you're around my age... and that you were diagnosed recently, like me. I'm interested in having a few girls my age with omnipods who can share their experiences/tips/advice with me. I'm going to try to add you on Facebook. so, it's okay if you don't except. I'm just giving you a heads up!

Oh, and did you hear about the new PDM? I'm going to get it. I'm not looking forward to spending $150 of my cash (my parents don't think it's a "necessity"), but I want it anyways. lol.

Hi, Well this was a bit of a stressful time right now. Friday Ben was found to have a mass in his lung. So our plans for Easter were delayed until we have a definitive diagnosis. We will be fine and God will take care of us this I know deep down in my heart and soul.
My last appointment with Doctor Evans I found out that there is an artificial pancreas almost ready to be released. He thinks it will be done and available in 2012. So now we can see where the funding goes. I do hope things are going well for you. I may not be on line much as things might just get a little crazy here in the next few weeks. I hope all will be well for you. Karen

hey gracey, things here have been a little hectic I am starting my lows with all the pollen and dust YIPPEEEE NOT!!
I Have heard so many different things about cgm's that I am just biding my time until things are a little less chaotic with these devices. I can not apply for a new pump until next year so maybe by then things will be improved.... Hope all the problems settle out and you are able to obtain great control. Karen

Hi Gracie, I have not been on line for a few days but today i have a chance to look up what is going on. How is it going with your pump? I am hoping all is well.
things here are crazy with the weird weather in Clinton. My joints are really being painful and I am trying to do extra exrecising to keep the pain somewhat under control. I have decided to go to the tea party being held in jackson on the 15th. Someone needs to get the wax out of Washington's ears. I hope all is well on you end. Karen

I doubt it; if there is something wrong with the PDM it would be under warranty. Just call them and ask; they can't charge you for that ;-)

If it is something that needs a replacement, I'm pretty sure Insulet will send you a replacement with a return envelope for you to send the old one back. Last year the BG meter on my PDM stopped working and that is exactly what they did. I got the new one in a few days and had 30 days to send the old one back to them in the postage-paid package they provided. It was very easy and painless.

Not sure yet. My endo wants me on the Medtronic, but I am trying to look in to other options too. I am getting comfortable and I have great control with shots. I really wanted a pump at first, but now I guess I am just happy to see myself controlled. How long were you on shots before you went to the pump? Delete Comment

Oh that should be fun!

oh yeah haha,
i dont watch mine either, but it seems even if i count the carbs right for a carb heavy meal (like taco bell for instance) its always close to 200 after 2 hours of getting insulin so i dont know.

Its confusing since ive never carb counted until just last month starting the omnipod.

But i still think its way better then shots! :) haha

Yeah, i get low sometime too, but not like what your saying. I usually get low when i get home from the farm, but thats about it.

You should maybe contact you CDE to change the insulin to card ration. It may be set to high.

Thats good that your not using that much insulin too though. Are you on a certain carb intake plan?
