Hey Emily, I think around the time I was getting the vaccine (I'm 21 now so it was quite some time ago!) there was a lot of controversy over all the illnesses it could lead to instead of just preventing them, and people were a bit dubious about it...but I think diabetes was one of the things that was mentioned and when I was diagnosed my mum always had this idea in her head that it was the MMR that triggered it. Then again, she could be completely wrong!! I'm not sure if that helps much with making your decision but if you have any other questions just let me know!! :)

I know where Framlingham is! I live just on the border between Essex and Suffolk, about 20 minutes from Ipswich. I don't have GCSEs this year, but I will have mocks soon (agh!). I haven't tried Humalog, but NovoRapid seems to be working alriiight for me at the moment (it's lantus I have a problem with - grrr!) and I'll be starting on a pump with novorapid soon anyhow, so the lantus shouldn't be a problem for much longer!

Welcome to TuDiabetes Emily! I'm glad that you found this community!

I can related to some of the things that you said about treating diabetes outside of the USA. I moved to Hungary (from USA) about four years ago. I also think that the CGMS will not be covered by the national insurance for many years.(Though I know that it is already available in Italy??). I guess that's the price that we pay for having affordable diabetes care!!

Your baby is beautiful! Hope that you are enjoying the moments and that you will get more sleep soon :)

Oh she's coping FINE! It's the rest of us losing our minds! She's sleeping through the baby crying while the rest of us are walking around the room with a crying infiant!!! HA! OK spelling!!

You might get to move before I get over there! HA! I can't afford anything when it comes to these gas prices right now! HA!

I took disability at the ripe old age of 24 just so I could get some help on the bills assocated with diabetes but now it's even higher! And ppl don't have any extra to help us out now! Fun isn't it!

What a cutie! You said she was 5 weeks old right! My newest granddaughter is 7 weeks old now.

As for the CMS I've never used one I couldn't stand another thing to be hooked up to. I'm already pumping and I don't think there's anymore room! HA!! I talked to a MM rep about a year ago and he said that it would be better to wait b/c they were going to come out with a pump that would do the CMS and pump insulin when we need it! Insurance ya' know! HA!!
