Nutcracker was fresh this year. Susie's daughter Madison was a center angel. She's a strong dancer and did well. Sorry to hear you're on the rollercoaster. I don't have too many problems with lows. Every once in a while. I do hate the food science part of Diabetes. Probably why I have the issues I do staying in target range. This week, I've not made it to the gym and I'm paying the price.

Hi Jim, I bet the nutcracker was awesome! My husband and I went Christmas shopping all day on Thursday and then I had to work Friday, and I was so tired last night that I just stood there and cried! We were in Target and I got low and thought I was going to pass out! I said to my husband, lets get out of here! Luckily, we got to the car in time for me to eat something. I will be going on the pump, which takes a couple of months to get. I have too many roller coaster rides! It is amazing how this disease just consumes so much of your time and energy. We just have to do the best we can to take care of ourselves. Tx for listening!

Hi Jim,
My son has been using the OmniPod for over two and a half years. He is 6 right now. We have been pleased with it. You can see Caleb using his OmniPod in several videos here: http://www.tudiabetes.org/video/video/listForContributor?screenName=nuc8jheruxng
I am happy to answer any specific questions you may have.

Good luck!

Hi Jim, Thanks for the welcome! The Omnipod sounds interesting..I'll have to find out more info on that. We all want better B.S. control! Enjoy the snow! I even had a little here in Antelope.

Hi Jim,
Have used the Omnipod for several years now. Had some issues in the past with bad pods, but seems to have passed now. I currently alternate between pod use and mdi (novolog + lantus) but I am in much better control while on a pump. Last hgbA1C was 6.5. Pluses: Tubeless, Integrated glucometer with plans for CGMS chip integration into PDM in future. Downsides: can't remove it (check out the new Solo pump due out soon), sketchy customer support. Good luck and let me know what you decide on.

If your insurance will cover you pod and supplies....go for it....my AIC went from 8.0 to 6.5 when I switched from shots to the pod. It is easier to have good control!!
Good Luck!

We have a Group for Northern California - http://www.tudiabetes.org/group/northerncalifornia - (you can go to Groups on the top banner, and you should be able to find it). If you are looking for a support Group in Sacramento, there should be someone in that group that knows. I have a few friends here that I think live near Sac. Of course, if you ever get the chance to go to an Event where our founder Manny will be, I highly recommend it. He lives in Berkeley.
