Lymari, welcome to FLAUSA. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. I really like the Melbourne area. I like to go surfing at "First Light." You've got some of the best surf in Florida.
Bienvenida, Lymari! :) Glad to have you in our community! I was wondering when I was going to meet other Puerto Ricans in here. :) In my family, we have a long, long list of Type 2 Diabetes, and I even think I may have one Type 1 distant cousin. It's good to have a support system here, and meet others that are going through similar experiences, or get to read on things we may have questions on... :) Glad to be your friend, and we'll see ya around the network. :)
Welcome to Tudiabetes Lymari. We are happy to have you as a member. I know it greifs you that your little one also has diabetes but he as an advocate that wont go away. You can and will always be able to truly relate to what he is going through. Look how hard it would be if it skipped your generation but not his.
There are a lot of caring people on this site ready to lend an ear and support. Welcome to our community, Sorry for rambling on so.....
Lymari, we are currently experiencing problems with the "comment back" feature. I don't know how computer-savvy you are, but if you switch to Mozilla Firefox for your browser, you won't have the problem. otherwise, you can add Doris and Teena as your friends (which I'd do anyway, they're great!) and then you can "send a message" to them.
welcome here, and if you click on Groups on the top banner, you will find that wonderful Group for parents that Teena mentioned. I'm type 1 for 42 years....
Hello Teena and Doris
Thanks for the welcoming comment. I am now trying to learn how to navigate the site.
I tried earlier to leave you guys a comment on your pages, but got an error twice. So I am trying here instead.
Maybe is something temporary, or not sure if I am doing it correctly on your pages.
Have a great day!
Thanks for the friend add Lymari. Wonderful to have a new friend. So sorry to hear about your son...Its always a concern if its our love one affected. Glad that you have found the community. Try visiting our Groups...There is a group here that is called "Parents of Kids with type 1 diabetes". Hope you will enjoy your stay...
Oh let me tell you this first! I know how you can cry about 1 of your children being a Type 1. My oldest is a Type 1 like me but she just gave birth to my 3rd grandchild! He weighed 10 lbs 4 oz at birth (last Tuesday I think) and was 20 1/2 inches long! YOU WILL BE A GOOD EXAMPLE TO HIM!!!!! He's alot stronger than you think right now!! I blamed myself for quite awhile after my daughter took Type 1 at 11 (I got it at 10) But she really came through for me about a year or so ago. I told her I had always blamed myself for her getting Type 1 and being born missing her left hand. She looked me straight in the eye and told me "Mom it's not your fault I never blamed you for any of this>" See how strong they can be??
Now for another thing..If you want to comment back to other's please hit the comment back bar below our comments and it will take you to our pages and there you can leave your comment and read a little about us too! Have a good day!

I am type 1 diabetic since age 2. I am 38 now.
My son was diagnosed also at age 2. He is 3 years old. I am still crying about it. And trying to be a good example to him.
I hope to be able to provide some support as best as I can. As well as to find a place to share our daily struggles/successes in dealing with this.
