Hello! How Do You Do! Hope you had a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Best Wishes NOW....and for the rest of the year :)
How's it all going? Do you have any questions or comments?
I too am an animal lover. If I was able I'd probably have 7 or 8 dogs. Dogs are so much fun! The playing, barking, running around, etc. They bring so much joy to my family.
I was doing a little research yesterday and found out that it is pretty rare for us to both have the same autoimmune conditions. Only 1 in 100,000 get Addison's. I actually have never met anyone with Addison's let alone the other 3 too. I take 15mg of Hydrocortisone, 0.1mg fludrocortisone, 150mg thyroxine and average approx. 35u of novolog insulin a day. I also take b12 shots monthly and am supposed to take daily tablets of iron and don't. I'm 41 yrs old and some days feel like I'm 141. The AD really threw me through a loop. I was misdiagnosed for so long and got so sick. It's been just over a year since the proper diagnosis and things seem to be moving along nicely, finally. I did gain 25lbs once I started the steroids for the AD but at the time I was sickly thin and the weight seems to have leveled out now.
I occasionally see an Endo in Philadelphia who has told me that because of the autoimmune conditions I have that it's likely that I will get Coeliac's Disease. They test me for it at least once a year. Just wanted to give you a heads up since you're in the same boat as me. T1 diabetes and Coeliac's are common together.
It's funny how small the world gets everyday! Talk soon.
