Marie:

Thanks for the good wishes. I am very proud of getting the scholarship and I was diagnosed with RA about 13 years ago. It is part of my big three Type 1, RA and Ankylosing Spondylitis. I told the doc the other day I want to get a couple more. I mean 5 autoimmune diseases must be some kind of record. Heck I have been trying to get into Guinness for years. LOL I hate being less than number 1 in anything, hence this notion of going back to school at age 53. I mean what in the world am I thinking? LOL

Anyway, thanks for the kind wishes, it means a lot to me when folks comment.

Thanks for the welcome.

Yes, He is 2 1/2 and has Type 1 diabetes, diagnosed about a year ago. He uses the OmniPod and Dexcom.

I found the site while searching for ways to integrate the two together, but it really looks like there is a sense of community here, so I hope to learn more than what I was initially looking for.

Again, thanks for the welcome!

Hi Marie. Yes, it's lupus. They are doing kidney tests and other tests too. They started me on plaquenil and indocin for now, trying to avoid steroids since I've got low white cells and just had 5 rounds of antifungal drugs. What a mess! I have low complement levels, which are correlated with high risk for kidney involement:( Very very scary! Thanks for the support!!!!!

Marie, thanks for the welcome! Yes I'm proud of my 5.9 A1C, first time below 6.2 since my diagnosis in 1988. I owe it to my OmniPod pump and Dexcom CGM. I go back to my endo in two weeks-keeping my fingers crossed!!

Hi Marie,
Thanks for the welcome to TuDiabetes! My farm is about 45 minutes north of the city and we grow organic vegetables and do educational programs. New Jersey is full of farms - it's not called the Garden State for nothing! Thanks for the link to the pod group.

Yes, i know.. I belong to ESTUDIABETES, which is the something like the latinamerican version of TUDIABETES.. But again.. in my country it is very hard (not to say impossible) to become a CDE. I am member of a team of mountain bikers which is formed by people with diabetes. this is the link of our group http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=139698406052292. we organized some activities last year and we are planning some others for this year. We would like to help people with diabetes in our country because of the lack of information and education. Hugs and be well..

Marie 1st off Thank you fot the coupon! 2nd I got your other letter about the quilt. Gues what? The hand you got for a child has so far been MUCH smaller than both my g-daughter's (I hoping to get Aden's had print later today) Now to tell you what you will probably be mad at me about. I tried to get their hand prints on the side of the card you sent on the graphic side but after MUCH movement fronm both of them I put their hand prints onthe back (for some reason those little fingers kept moving on me LOL) Pming you.
