Timothy is home earlier than anticipated, so that means his place of work will not pay him for the time off while in the hosp. and recuperating. Apparently they cover the time frame if you're in the hospital for a minimum of 2 days!! So, he's on pain meds...and feeling very edgy due to not smoking. I'm urging him to talk to the doc re the patch or something to take him over the hump.
As for myself...I'm done with school now, for Christmas Break. Will be back in the thick of it on January 7th. BUT...that is THEN!! For now...I am HOME SWEET HOME!
First on the list tomorrow after sleeping in till 9 (and after coffee of course)....the Christmas cards!! Then...getting a new element for my oven. No element = no turkey!! Gifts....gotta buy 4 more...and wrap them.
Must finish decorating the tree. The kids are coming here on Christmas eve....everyone bringing something.
Hugs...linda

Good Morning,Marie. A little nippy here. We both had good nights PTL. I got a card off to Kathy. I wonder what is wrong? Russ is so embarrassed with that flap of skin by his nose. It is growing hair. He has to live with it until Jan 2. I am telling him he has to into a store today as he needs to get a gift for Tom. First he has to see the doctor for COUMADAN check and this afternoon the urologist. He has had cancer but successful removal. Are you all through at your Mom's or do you have more cleaning out to do? Mt BG 108. How was yours? I bought at the auction 3 small ceramic bowls. They cannot go in the oven. I was disappointed,. How is Ed doing? Any leads? I hope the year 2013 will be a better year. Tom comes tonight and stays through New Years. The house is 100% decorated. Angels and Santas everywhere. We should get rid of stuff. I think I will marinade a loin of pork for Christmas have not had that in a while. Have a good day. Hope your Readings good. You baking? love you. HUGS, Reed

Morning Marie!! Timothy our son (26) is recuperating. He has undergone the surgical procedure on Wednesday, to repair the puncture in his lung made by the tubing used to re-inflate it following the pneumothorax of October 10th. He should be in the hospital for another day or 2. Pray that he resists the urge of smoking (and that his wife Steph. who is due in June, also considers cessation!).
Smoking is indeed of little help in this matter, but not the cause. The cause revolves around asthma mostly, and being genetically predisposed to it.
hugs....linda ♥

Good Morning,Marie. We both had a good night. I think just getting all those bandages off made a difference for Russ. Chilly this morning 45 degrees. My BG 106. TOPS today last meeting of the year. Russ needs to go to a store but is embarrassed because of the flap. I said people will not even notice. Did you have a good night? How were your Readings? I hope good. Does Ed still get unemployment? I got my notice of my increase in Social Security. Mine is not big as teachers in MA did not work under Social Security. I got enough quarters working after retirement. I think I will go on a cruise...it was an increase of $3. LOL. Any plans for today? take good care. My very best to Ed. HUGS,Reed

Hello! Thank you for your comment. I am so happy that I found this site! I am very new to this and am still adjusting. I was initially diagnosed as Type 2, but came to find I'm a LADA Type 1. Have been on insulin (long acting and fast acting) for about 6 weeks now. In talks with doctor to start on the pump. How are you? What's your story?

Good Morning,Marie. I am hoping it is Kathy's computer that has gone wrong and NOT that she has had a relapse especially of the kidney problem. I sent her a Christmas card when I sent yours. This is so unusual for her. Tree up decorated Russ will put on tinsel and popcorn strands. Then 3 ceramic trees big ones. My BG 106. Tom has to leave at 4 in the morning to get in Jax in time for the race. We will go to MASS tonight at 5 as that counts for Sunday. Need to grocery shop this morning taking vack milk that soured and date says use by 12/23. I hope you have a good day. Good luck chanhing your infusion check. I do not think I could do it. How is your Mom? Does she realize you are cleaning out her apt? Give my best to Ed. Take care. HUGS,Reed

Good Moorniing,Marie. How are things this morning. I knew your Dad was a maker of fine things. You and I used to chat with Daniel. I wonder how he is? I wonder if a hidstorical society would take some of your good furniture. I am worried. I have not heard from Kathy in 6 days. Very unusual as she was very faithful. I hope she did not have a relapse. Russ goes to surgeon this morning re the nose. I guess a lot more work to be done.I have the urologist at 1. He never finds anything wrong so I hope it continues. Have you rested? I hope so. How was your night? My BG 106. Dark dreary cold rainy here. Take good care of yourself. I care. My very best to Ed. HUGS,Reed

Hi Marie, I read your note on Reed's page and had to come over and give you some virtual hugs and support. I am so sorry that you are going through hard times with your mom and all her belongings. When my mom passed away from cancer, she and my dad were pretty good about cleaning away the life accumulations. They just had a big house and lots of furniture. My dad ended up moving in with my sister when he got macular degeneration and lost most of his sight. She had a big house so all the furniture ended up at her place and a lot of it in her basement. When my dad died she wanted to give me half the furniture, and it was okay because I lived in a townhouse then so we went to Michigan, packed up a U-Haul and brought it all back. None of it matched my furniture but we had three levels so at least it fit. My sister made me promise to keep everything "in the family."
The trouble came when I separated from my husband and moved into a small apartment. Now I am packed so tight with furniture you can hardly see the carpet! None of it matches either! I am always bumping into things because it is too crowded and I don't dare give anything away because I don't want my sister to get mad.
How is your cough and your diabetes during all of this? I am sending positive vibes your way and hope that you get everything sorted out and mom settled down. I hope that all this stress is not wearing down your health.
I am back at work now, finally all my physical problems are down to a dull roar. Work is in shambles. They did a lot of dumb things while I was gone and I am fighting hard to put things back together again. It took me years to set up an organized system and now I am starting all over again, spending extra hours is so tempting but I won't. I just have to be patient and it will come together in time. If you are in my neighborhood and have a time when you just need to get away, give me a call and I will take you out to lunch. Take care, I am thinking of you. Lots.
