Hi!

Your son was diagnosed not long after ours (Dec 2)- did your son go to Children's too? We chose a local independent provider over the Children's group for a bunch of reasons and are very happy with her treatment of our son. (Cong Ning of Adventist Health Care)

Our son is only 5, and I have lived with type 1 since I was 4.

Thanks for adding me- it's nice to find another local parent on here!

I see Marie has been by telling you about the Parent's of Type 1 there! Good! Your son (and you) will make it! When I first took Type 1 back in the early 70's there was no such thing as checking your bs you had to pee in a cup and test your urine! Things have really gotten sooooo much better! I took it at 10 that's how I know he will surprise you. He's alot tougher than you think! He is already showing you he is if he can do the finger pricks and the shots without fussing about them

I have a Type 1 daughter also she is now 21 years old with 3 kids 3 1/2 and almost 2 and a grandson 3 weeks. The other 2 are girls. Please tell your son about us so he can join up too. We would love to have him and I'll bet he would love to join up too!
