Thanks for the kind words. I am new to this and scared to be honest. My doc scared the hell out of me. He put me on insulin (Lantus 25 units a day to start.) They are telling me I will have to be on insulin the rest of my life. I am not sure how I feel about it or believe them. My BG has been running about 199-288 with the Lantus. This will be my third day on it. The doc said I would not feel good for a while and he was right. Thanks again. Jason

Well...the kids are all gone! Timothy and Steph spent their first whole day in their own house yesterday! The little ones are coming to their house (with their cats) tonight. It's such a void here!!! I'm unfamiliar now to how utterly QUIET the house is!!! I keep the radio going...as the lack of constant sound is...well...deafening!
The fridge is empty....gotta get some "stuffing"!!
Funny thing happened yesterday. The neighbour told Len this morning that at around 11:30 last night some young people pulled up in our drive and headed up to the door with cases of beer!! We almost had a party lol. The neighbours redirected them to Timothy's place. Honestly...11:30! They undoubtedly were there 'till wee hours! Thank goodness it wasn't here! That's not for me anymore! My version of a party has GREATLY changed from my early 20s lol!! Will be ushering today at church, so even if Mason were in town, I would not be taking him today! Still waiting on a response re. my birth certificate!
Our children's birthdays are coming up....Danielle will be 28 on the 31st of July....and Timothy's is the following day, Aug. 1st....he'll be 26! Feels like just yesterday I was pushing them in a stroller! Sigh!
How's it all going at your end? How are you feeling?
Take care of yourself dear Judith ♥
luv and hugs....linda

Top o' the mornin' Judith! Whatcha up to today? The kids here are packing like mad. They're moving out next Saturday...and get the keys Friday. The grandkids will be with the other grandma then. Our daughter has a new shift that entails her having to work some Sundays, and Stephen (her little guy) would then be babysat here by our daughter-in-law. However next Sunday, if that's the case... Stephen will be with her ex! Next Saturday will be a madhouse here!! On this coming Wednesday (the 18th), I'm helping out at a fundraiser with the Canadian Diabetes Association. It's an amazing day outside! Wishing YOU an awesome day :)

Touching again on allergies...they are rampant...and I don't mean just in our family!! Indeed, the environment's polluted core is much the culprit! I have some....dating back to my childhood (at a when the air/the food we ingested was safer), my husband has them, my siblings...our children (genetics not an issue)...daughter-in-law...and I now see allergies surfacing in our gr-children. As well as allergies, Stephen appears to have inherited his mom's hypoglycemia. There are many tell tale signs. Danielle (daughter) was closely monitored during her pregnancy, for gestational diabetes...her bg would often run very low.
She now has more frequent snacks. Stephen is VERY crabby when he wakes, and is brought back with juice.
How is your Summer...are you doing well in spite of the heat?
Hugs...linda

More "stuff"!! How's the weather at your end...hot and muggy here...was going to weed after the brief shower we had here yesterday....but the air was very thick....and my back still recuperating from having washed the kitchen floor 3x over on all fours (the old fashion way) the day before when Riley (2) decided to spit out his juice all over the place. I would have been arrested for what I toyed doing to him! The room that our daughter was in before moving into her own place is now taken up as a storage room for Timothy and Steph (son and d-i-l). The storage unit they have rented is all full!!! They're moving into their own house starting the 19th of this month! The repeat empty nest syndrome lol. It sure will feel odd to have the whole house to ourselves again! Steph (d-i-l) has a bad ear/sinus infection. She went to a walk in clinic yesterday, and was put on meds, including ear drops. Early evening, her ear was bleeding, which is not uncommon with ear infection...but I nevertheless offered to take her to ER, knowing that we'd be there for at least 6 hours...no no no...she didn't want to go. Midnight, as I'm coming out of the washroom to go to bed, she and Timothy are at the kitchen table...seems that now she feels she should take me up on that earlier offer. I said to her, "you realize that we'll be there all night 'till mid morning anyway!"
She had gone to the internet, and of course got scared by the comments and suggested diagnoses of her bleeding ear! (sigh....who listens to me!!) So I said...call telehealth (a telephone access here, that helps to give you a heads up about your symptoms). They basically paraphrased my comment to her..."you have been seen, you DO have an ear infection which may bleed, you are on medication for it, you do NOT have cancer nor have you suffered trauma to the head. Call your doctor in the morning if it is still bleeding" Who listens to me!!! So this morning, she called her doctor who will see her at....3pm, and the appointment was later changed to 7pm! Guess the doc doesn't share her concern!!
So...life goes on in the Miller household! Sounds SO much like a soap that I should ask you to stay tuned tomorrow...same time same station! How's life at YOUR end??
hugs....linda

GOOD MORNING Judith ♥
Long past 4 days! My classroom is clean....student's hours of French are recorded....made some copies in prep for September ...and designed a new game to help in French. Yesterday was the last of the 2 day First Aid course....I passed! But MOSTLY yesterday was the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL for teachers at our school!!!
I'M OFF 'TILL THE LAST WEEK OF AUGUST!!!!!
I was to meet up with other teachers yesterday at a colleague's house for a little year end celebration. Got in the car, started it, and the car said....clickclickclickclickclick! I remember we had that trouble last year....has to do with the car's AC/starter! So Len boosted the car, and all seemed fine, but I wasn't pushing it and decided to stay home instead! Right now I feel fine, but yesterday I was a little off and sugars were a tad high! Could be the heat...it was very hot today also! Slept in this morning ...'till 9!!! What bliss! Today is our youngest grandson's 2nd birthday! Tomorrow, our 33rd Anniversary....dinner out perhaps. Sunday the 1st of July, is Canada Day! Doing a picnic and whatnot...water park for the kids, followed by the usual city wide fireworks at dusk.! What about YOU?? Your 4th is coming up...any plans?
Luv....linda

Thought I'd send you this lovely pic of blissful quietude! Good Mornin' Judith!!! Well....here I am with ONE week left to school (not counting the mandatory first aide course the week after that, on the 27/28th).
Of course, it's madness at school as we wind down and come to a close. As it is with all clubs/groups. Yesterday was the school's
annual Father's Day Breakfast, followed by a canoe trek for dads, some staff (not I!!), and students in grades 4 to 8. This meant
that we teachers/staff had to be at the school at 7 am to prep. for a full fare breakfast! We had our breakfast before the event
started at 8! It was a long day in spite of less students/classes. After my day at school...helped our daughter shop for furniture
etc for her new place. Rush rush rush!! Dinner on the run! This is the weekend my daughter is moving into an apartment...
which means WE ARE/I AM looking after her little guy during the move. Our son, his wife and their two little ones will not be
moving to their house 'till mid July!! As well....Len will be picking up Stephen (daughter's little sprout) daily to bring him here
to be babysat by our d-i-l....and in July and on, driving him to our son/daughter-in-law's new place! Len should start a chauffeur
business, as in driving folks to appointments etc....I'm SURE there's a need there! In the midst of all this, there's nothing but
arguments, one-upmanship and nasty words between our daughter and son/d-i-l, and I am SO SICK OF IT....that I went as far
as to say to our son..."makes me wonder why we had any children". There's not much worse than being caught between 2
feuding loved ones.
So...I'm tapping away sucking back a cuppa while the 3 little ones are watching something with grandpa...I'm still in jammies,
and looking forward to a shower before I head for the front!
Have a SUPERB weekend!
Luv......linda ♥

Evening Judith.....YES!!! No more report cards...no more parent teacher interviews!!!
I'm almost there...reaching for the golden ring!
It was a hectic 2 days of talking to parents. Most are great...but you always get couple of bad apples in the bunch or a couple of weirdos that shed light on why Susie behaves the way she does!
This weekend will be sheer bliss...nothing hanging over my head (for now)...sleeping in tomorrow for sure! My youngest grandson is spending the weekend with his dad, so I'll be able to spend some time on tu. without having to share my office/nursery. So here I am....sucking back a nice Riesling and enjoying the moment. Man....does it feel good. But this doesn't even BEGIN to compare to how it feels on the first day... nay, the first MORNING of Summer break! :D
luv....linda

Thanks Judith, I am adopted but in touch with birth family, there seems to be diabetes on both sides. My picture is one my youngest daughter recently did for a final art class assignment. She doesn't see herself as creative since her older sister has always been the artistic one so I have been trying to encourage her. I have four children, a son age 21, two daughters (19 and soon to be 15) and a ten year old stepson who is with us every other weekend. You seem to be living a very full and interesting life. My children have been my main focus and so empty nest is looming large for me in the near future. Thanks for the warm welcome! Laurie
