How's it all going Kelly? I am happy that you are reading this and that you are a member of the growing TuDiabetes family.

Since the community was formed back in early 2007, lots of things have changed. Also since then, lots of new members have joined: we're now nearly 11,300 members. So, new members and new features means it never hurts to refresh how things work around the community.

If you haven't read it, I invite you to take a few minutes to go through our New Member Guide. If you have been a member for a while but have let a little dust accumulate on your TuDiabetes account, you will find it very useful. If you joined just recently, you will find it EVEN MORE handy.

How are you, have you been skiing yet this season?

We went to Willamette Pass last week and had a blast. I'm debating getting a helmet. I'm not a very risk-taking skiier, but I do like to go fast, and all those other folks on the mountain make me tempted.

hey, how does one get involved in this UN resolution? you are a diabetes advocate? that sounds really interesting.

Kelly, your profile is inspiring. I've had diabetes for 11 years, and I've been on a pump for about 8. I never really got active in diabetes awareness groups, except for once in 2002 when I served as an advocate. I would love to get more involved. I am a writer, having had 7 books published. Do you think there is a role for me in the organization of which you're a part?

yeah it's certainly been a strange few weeks, especially as I switched from the original 2 shots a day to 4+ shots a day after only 5 days... I HATED the eating every 2 and a half hours thing. I had to eat in class and everything so I'm a lot happier now I can eat whenever I like.
so do you use shots as well as a pump? is there a particular reason for that?
