Yes, I'd love to get together for coffee. It was so kind of you to ask. As you can gather from some of my comments on this site, we are not too thrilled with our medical team. We are still in the stages of experimentation with insulin/carb ratios and that type of thing, and by the way, I have Gary Scheiner's book- very detailed and helpful.I like Clare's suggestion, that a group of us in the area could meet.
P. S. love your photos Thanks for reaching out, CaryJ (Carolyn)
Hi Bernard, Nice to hear from a fellow Bay Stater. I used to work in Hopkinton off of South Street. I now work in Marlboro. I think there should be at least a few of us who could meet for coffee or whatever, I think that would be fun.
Thank you for the encouragement and the hugs. My writing... it was simply a free flow of thought. I would never make it past my 7th grade English teacher with that in hand! I just felt I needed to get it all out. We will see what replies I get. I hope I do get some...
Hi Bernard - thanks for the comment on my post. Yes, to God goes the glory. Hope you and the family are well. My niece is 8.5 years old now and we love her to pieces.
On the side iof your page it says get involved click on that.
If you want to mail a check read the address on MY PAGE in Marie's Comment to me.
I think you know I lived in Lexington 65 years and was an Educator in Wayland and Arlington. Boy do I miss New England. We have endured the hottest summer ever here in Florida. Reed

Good to hear from you. Yes, I have had a decent summer after a rather harrowing year. My friend of over 50 years died last October and I have been in a deep funk since then.(Deep funks are not reommended for glucose control), but my brother in Norway convinced me to take a 24-day cruise on the Qeen Mary 2 from New York to New York, visiting the two cities in Norway where my family members live. It was a great experience, and the 10 pounds I gained on the cruise have now been discarded. These days I am, as G&S would have phrased it, "doing very little and doing that very well."
Please tell me how you are faring these days. You had some employmemt issues recently, and the economy has not been very kind. Please give me an update.
-Olaf
Hi, thank you for the warm welcome! I have joined the New England group. I did not know of that meet up group in Woburn, is there a website for it? I did see a flyer at my doctors office about the meeting in Marlboro. Thanks for the info!
Bernard
We are currently using accu check nano . We cannot move to the accucheck mobile at the moment because the test strip cartridges are not approved by the Drugs board in Ireland and therefore are not available under the long term illness scheme.
I have seen messages about that group and I think I went once when I was thinking about CGM for the first time. Is there another group closer to Boston?
Thanks,
Nicole

Hi,
Wow, I don't get on this site all that often lately. How are you doing?
Hi Bernard - thanks for the greetings! I'm an American of Irish decent. I also lived in Dublin during 2008 for school & internship, so I as I'm sure you can relate to, I miss it dearly.
Re; Caffine. That would be cool.. You seem to know a lot about the Dexcom and current technology.. I have some experience dealing with Roche, since I own the black sheep of the major pump manufacturers.. ;)
Bernard, I've spent some time at Joslin, and taken a few of their courses,(one on meters, and another on pumps). I'll be getting back in there probably next week, to start the further education on the Dexcom pump then the cgm.
I just got back from vacation, and a mess of other "stuff" has sidelined me for a while, sorry for not getting back to you in a timely manner.

Hi Bernard,
thanks for the welcome. I would love to meet others but it will be difficult for me to go to Woburn with commute. I'll consider it!

Hey Bernard,
I saw you were involved with Grove Instruments non invasive glucose meter. Any chance you can give me some info on the one you trialed?
Thanks.

I'm all ears. :)
I intend to make the users' data available in standard format so it can be manipulated by user as he/she sees fit.
