Hi Debi! After my diagnosis I gained almost 15 kg!!! And it took an year of hard dieting to lose them!I was starting thinking that it wasn't possible. But it is!
Tender doggie!Have a lovely day, Ale
Thanks for posting your story. I was diagnosed at 23, and the adjustment was hard for me as well. Not so much the food, since my parents were health food fanatics, but as a twenty-something not living at home I felt incredibly isolated and scared. My husband (then fiance) was there & so good, but having it be entirely, suddenly only my responsibility and being undereducated about how to manage it was hard.
I hope you're doing well, now, and having a wonderful summer!
Wow I think getting type one as an adult would be really hard!!!! I also went through a hard time after my daughter almost died due to her diabetes My marriage almost ended but it took work and we are doing so well!!! But we try really hard !! I hope all works out for you I am SURE it will!! Best of luck hope to hear from you. ~korin~
Thank you for the comment. I also understand about struggles with food - but I'm so glad to hear about your pump working out well for you! I'm very interested in hearing more from people who have started using it recently.
Welcome, Debi! It's good to see you here. Make sure to join the Southwest Group (I just set those up on the site) so you can meet more people with D in your area.
Debi,
I have a friend in Pleasant Grove, so I'm up there every once in a while! How funny, we're both from the East, and now live in the West. Well, I'd love to chat and maybe we can start something!
