Good Morning,Kathy. Did you get the cold weather? It is 73 here dreary and damp and not good for the old bones. Did you get my card? Tom is on his way to take Russ for the MRI.Russ does not mind the MRI...it is waiting for the results. I hope no operation needed as I would be stuck I do not drive and no bus service on the island. I still keep saying I must get my tax stuff organized and then do not do it. I pay estimated taces but it seems never enough. I go to a CPA. I would not know how to run a party for that many people. You know in the long run a caterer might be cheaper. Friday in Lent must go to the fish market. Hope things are well with you. Take good care. HUGS,Reed
Good Morning,Kathy. Glad you got your computer back and he did not cost too much. From my message yesterday,I could not finish my quote. It would not let me type. Oh,oh batteries. I turned the keyboard over got a dime to turn the screws put in 4 AA batteries and it worked. Sunny and 64 as I type. Up North everyone is sating where is Winter? A REMINDER..SPRING AHEAD Saturday night...seems early. I have the dentist at 10:45. Elections over. I guess I am IT for another year. Russ has MRI tomorrow. Tom is coming to take him. He said to me,I wish I had more Zip in the morning. That sounds like a grand party 300 people. I hope this finds you well and kicking. Do you ever hear from Mark? I miss him. Have a wonderful day. HUGS,Reed
Good Morning,Kathy. Glorious day here. Bright sun and 68. My seafood finally caught up with me. My BG 118. I had a lot of company and eating out and TOPS tomorrow. Maybe I should take all my clothes off to get weighed. It was a good weekend. your computer crashed my printer needed ink. I hd to wait for Tom to do it as I am a nerd. My big event today is the BUG man...in Florida with the dampnes and humidity yu have to. He comes 2 times a year. I never see any bugs but better be safe than sorry. Has your weather warmed up? I hope so. Glad you are able to walk as it is the best exercise. The Bug Man is a Non-stop talker so my ears will be ringing. You have a wonderful day. You are in my thoughts. Did I tell you John wants a transplant they told him NOT to smoke. He smoked a cigar and it showed up in the test so he has to wait 6 months before he can get on the list. Take care and have a beautiful day. HUGS,Reed
Hi Kathy, heard that your computer crashed. I hope that it is up again soon and doesn't cost anything to get it that way. What happend to it? I have paid for a year's worth of service from IYOGI, whenever my comp acts up these guys from India come in it remmotely and fix it for me while I watch. It is almost worth it just to see what they do when they clean it up, it is amazing. Then they alway say "good karma" when they are finished and the computer works again. One time it was so funny, my webcam went down. I was in my pajamas with my hair all goofy when it happened. I logged on to them to have them fix it. At the end when it was all fixed the guy remotely turned it on and there I was in my web cam because I was sitting in front of the computer, so I screamed and waved my arms around and the two of us laughed about it while we were typing back and forth to each other. It was pretty funny.
So you must have one of those new IPHONES that play music, are a phone and text? My son has one. I cannot afford the fee for that. I am saving up for one. They are so neat.
Aww, rinku, wrote you a poem. He is so sweet. I think he does well writing English. He is trying to learn. I think he is pretty good at it already.
Hope you are doing well and your comp gets fixed soon. Lots.
Good Morning,Kathy. Chilly 43 here but the sun is out. Tom if off to the Gym. Then we go for a haircut. I did not get past 3AM as far as sleep goes. They say "old folks" do not need as much.I stay there until I cannot stand it anymore than I get up. Glad you were able to do some walking,. Here a lot of people walk at the JCP mall. TOPS elections Wed. I really do not wabt to be Leader again but no one wants it...a lot of work. Not much to report. I hope Russ hears about getting that Cat Scan so we can find out what that is all about. Anything planned for today? Take good care. I care. HUGS,Reed
Morning Kathy....sorry for the delay with my response. I'm not familiar with the Rosetta Stone system, other than having heard the name from a friend once. Having checked it out on Wikipedia, I read that it defines itself as an immersion programme. That said, I beg to differ as no programme, regardless of how great it is (and I see this one as being effective....from what I've read that is)....for it to be truly immersion, one has to be surrounded by that language. However, it you were to follow the Rosetta method AND converse daily with members of your family in Norwegian...then it would be considered the next best thing to immersion.
My perspective also is derived from having English as my second language....the method used was called "Sink or Swim"....I chose swimming!
Best of luck with your choice....let me know what method you've chosen...and how it evolves :)

Hi Kathy. Happy to hear you had a real (not virtual) celebration drink. I must admit I had to google Mojito, since my drinks are less spectacular. However I'll think of you and your miracle the next time I lift a glass of Daura (a gluten free beer) or wine. Cheers!
Hi Kathy, I saw your strawberry on Reed's page. It was so cute because your hand is is so petite and that thing was so huge. It was beautiful I never saw any strawberry that big before! What did you end up doing with it?
I usually get to Minneapolis several times each year. I have a very good friend there who I take to dinner on occasion. She doesn't get out much so it is a nice outlet for her and I enjoy the pleasure of her company.
I was thinking of sometime in March, and again in early May, if my schedule allows. As of this writing, I am not really sure of anything.
" Birds are flying their own sky Trees are growing their own land
Men are not at all trying to fly and grow
Memories are growing with tears, fears, fatigue and sleep
How can i try to live or leave from or in the world?"
Good Morning,Kathy. I woke ip at 4. I could not get back to sleep so I got up at 5. Very dark at that hour. It was 64 degrees. Did I hear you might get more snow? Today,my big events will be to go to the Pharmacy and the fish market for Lenten Tom. After 59 you do not need to fast but I do. Another one of the teachers that worked under me passed yesterday. She was 75. A very nice person. I read WW2 veterans are dying at the rate of 1200 a day. I do not like the sound of that. Tomorrow,I hit TARGET or as we swanky people here call it TAR JAY. For paper goods Listerine tooth paste etc. It is going to rain in the morning so I do not know if Tom will run or not. His first job as LECTOR at the Cathedral will be March 18.He has the second reading. What did you d yesterday? Did you go out? Are the streets still slushy? You be ver, very careful. Did your boots dry...old trick putting newspapers in them. Have a very good day. Your are in my thoughts.and Prayers. HUGS,Reed
hi Kathy, I think of Sandy a lot. She would have been the first to cheer your miracle. as I remember, she had just recently started dialysis herself. yes, she was just pure love.
I am making sourdough bread today. you either have to use the starter or throw part of it out every week I hate to throw food away. I may have to surprise a neighbor with a loaf as it makes 2 and I already have a couple of different loaves in the freezer. I am waiting to get my order from King Arthur Flour Co, I ordered some Pumpernickel flour and a few other things. My oven actually has a setting for proofing loaves, and I've figured out how to use my stand mixer for most of the kneading. Now I am thinking of entering the Fleishman's contest at the State Fair this year. it has a $$$ prize. I usually help out the judges (all professionals) the day they do the judging and it's as serious as any quilt show judging, which is very serious.

All the best to you.
