Good Morning.Kathy. Thanks for yur nice message and the nice photos. I now know who is who. Too bad they selected that restaurant. I had a roast loin of pork. A lot left over so Tom is going to take it home and do something with barbecue sauce. I went to church Home Depot transplanted zinnias so that was me day. They promised rain all day. NOTHING. Tom is at the locfal Gym. Then we will go intown for haircuts. Russ and I look like shepherds. Any plans for today? STILL NO RAIN. My water bill was very high from all the watering I had to do. Take care and have a lovely day. HUGS,Reed

is it the salt in the chips, or the carbs, or both? sometimes we make pita chips, cut them into wedges, tear the two parts apart, brush with olive oil and broil. really good, and probably less salt than chips. very good with hummus. I did a real lol too on the BB&b. 83 degrees here today.

Good afternoon.Kathy. Busy day. Grocery shopping. I went crazy spemt $241 wonderful sales. Low sodium soups for Russ. We went to Bed Bath,Beyond to get seat cushions for our kitchen chairs. The chairs are maple but now that we are older we find them a little tough on our rear ends. I did a rain danc in my bikini but it did no good...N rain. Russ can put some weight on his leg and walk on it a little but it still depends on the walk. Is this Gtaduation Day? I hope all goes well. I love avocados. Take good care.HUGS,Reed

Good Morning Kathy. How are things with you? This is the day. Russ sees the orthopedic surgeon. Will he need a hip replacement? Will just physical therapy help? Stay tuned. Remember the Adrenal gland growth? We had forgotten it. The surgeon did not he called yesterday. Russ sees him May 22. What else can happen to that guy. Insurance...I had a terrible time. They had me in UNICARE. They want me to go mail order. I said no. My mail box is a long walk. I do not go everyday and i did want my prescription to go there. They finally agreed not to make me. I never heard of that outfit you are talking about. Make up a story thieves will steal things will get wet you hav 3 wooden legs and cannot get your mail. Why don't they leave us alone? NO RAIN. They keep saying 70% chance but it never happens. My birthday the 15th...I hope Russ will be able to go out as I would like some fried clams. I will be 39. (85) What are your plans for today? I will be waiting to hear what the surgeon tells Russ. Have a wonderful day. HUGS,Reed

Morning,Kathy. We did not get the rain. Last Thursday a troubled young man opened the back door of the school bus. He died. He was AB lived in Jacksonville. They donated his organs. John is AB the only one on the list that is whey he got the transplant so fast. He is still in the hospital. I am doing well. Russ still cannot walk on that leg. He called the surgen and asked if his appointment could be moved up. YES. He goes tomorrow. I hope it does not mean a hip replacement. He can drive. Taking me to TOPS. He said sitting down no proplem but he cannot stand on the leg without the walker. My BG 109 with all the stress I am happy with that. Did your shawl ever dry. I hate wood smoke smell on things. You have a great day. Be careful. HUGS,Reed

Thunder thunder heavy rain trees down but all around us not a drop in St. Augustine. I am not leaving the house I want to be sure Russ can take me to TOPS tomorrow. He is doing so/so. Still needs the walker. Lot of services but my income too high. Council on Aging just does doctors. I discovered a lady in Seagate whio will do errands shop etc so I can call her. I hope you had a good night's sleep. Any plans for today? Tom is in town for a big meeting. He might drop in here for dinner. You have a great day and take good care of yourself. HUGS,Reed

Hi Kathy, It is so nice to here from you!
I am glad that you like my page. Pansies are my favorite flower because my mom loved them and used to have a special little pansy garden in our back yard. It was so beautiful. She used to always tell me to look at the pansy and smile because they have little faces and they smile back at you. I saw the neatest thing, someone took an old boot and planted pansies in it and put them on their porch. It just looked so adorable and quaint.
I have been feeling sick for about two weeks, and my BGs are showing it. I am staying home for the rest of the week. My NP wants me to log all my BGs, eat a very strict diet, and stay away from stress and relax. Sounds good to me! I have been at doctor's appointments all day yesterday and this morning and have one scheduled for Friday, but I have the rest of the day to chill out and tomorrow as well. I am starting to feel better, but my lips are still really swollen. It is funny because they look like I have had botox injections and they are really pink, and feel numb. The doctor said to keep taking the Zocor anyway and they will monitor it.
It is so bummy when someone close to you leaves. It is the same thing with my son Jesse. He is 20 years old and just moved out. He is going to school and working, so he is busy and doesn't have time visit me. I moped around like a wounded animal for a while. He never calls, but he will text so that is another reason why I got the new phone. Last weekend I went in his room and all his stuff is in there, mostly the leftover stuff he didn't want to take with him. Kind of sad to go through everything, finding stuff he kept when he was a little kid. Looking at baby pictures, yup I know the feeling. I am working on turning the room into a art/reading/exercise room with a fold out couch bed, so that he has a place to sleep when he comes to visit. I will really enjoy having a new place to "nest."
I am terrible, I have the Beck book but only read the first few chapters, bought the cards and then got busy with work and never read the rest of it. I am glad that you reminded me because now with the time off I can start on that again. I have been eating low carb and healthy, and not eating anything after dinner and I have lost 8 pounds without exercise. Now I am going to start the exercise and make it a priority. It is really nice weather here now so that shouldn't be a problem. I have been doing yoga for a while now but want to add walking and weights. Good luck on losing your 5 pounds. You look so petite in your pictures I think you seem a good weight now, but for optimal health I know we should be at our target wieght.
I ended up getting an Android smart phone by Motorola. I kind of felt pressured to be one of the "guys" at work and have one. I am not so sure it was worth it. I cut my landline off so I could afford it. Now I just have that as my only phone. It is nice I guess. At first I was all intimidated thinking that I couldn't figure out how to use it, but I got the "Dummies" book and now at least I can use all the features. The one thing that I really like about it is that I got an app for diabetes. Actually, it is pretty nice, it has so many things that I didn't even know about, internet, movies, TV, music, email, calendar, task manager, camera, video cam, and of course it has a phone. It is kind of nice to be able to keep it with me and have a place to organize my life, since I am on the run most of the time.
I hope you have a nice Wednesday and if you miss Trevor and feel down, just write to me, I know the feeling, we can be depressed together or start doing something distracting like sending each other 70's tunes! Good luck with the Beck book I am going to get working on that this afternoon. Take care.

Kathy:

I love that video because of the references to Roy Oberson. There is a picture of him, and the guitar in the chair. I think it is an awesome video. Here is another one for you. Look into who played parts in Tom Petty;s Into the great wide open. Its a fun video when you try to pic out the stars.

Ok so your questions, Dissertation, I am still working on it. I have completed chapters 1, 2 and 3 but they are not yet approved, they are at the editor. Wish me luck. I have two more chapters, but chapter 2 is the bear and it is done, I hope. The hip works though I remain weak. I am walking and pressing, but it is a tough row to hoe. I get some shoulder surgery on Thursday of this week. It is arthroscopic surgery so I should be good to type in about a week or so, I hope, but it is a bit exploratory so we shall see. I am giving away RA, want some ? It is all free, take as much of mine as you want. LOL No takers yet.
