Hello Kathy. Ever have one of those days where you feel like going out in the garden and eat worms? That is I. Cyber Monday. I did not know what it meant. I went to the place where I always order my Christmas cards and they were all half price. I put in my order fast. Loved the photo of the spoon. Thanksgiving turkey went home to Gainesville. I had enough. I think I might be getting a sore throat. I hope not. Tom painted the front of the house white looks great. My Christmas shopping all done. Thank you Vans Gifts and L>L>Bean. Hope this finds you feeling much, much better. Glorious day here. Take care. HUGS,Reed

HI Kathy- Hope you are feeling just a little bit better. Pink eye can be a royal pain when you can't see clearly. That's good you have friends to take care of you while you are feeling poorly. I am doing OK, but Jim is having trouble with his coumadin and was but on another anticoag. drug to raise his INR. We certainly hope it works.
Take good care of yourself, and stay warm. Cat

Hi Kathy, MissKitka and those toes, I think I have had that picture sent to me about ten times, so I know Don is really intrigued with those square toes. They are pretty cute. Zen's feet are tiny. She is a petite little thing.
So what are you doing with pink eye? I guess when it rains it pours, and I hope that you get better soon. I think it take a while and is an itchy, pesky PITA. No fun.
I hope we have been through all the maladies for the year, yep, get them out of the way, so we can have some smooth sailing by the New Year at least. Take good care. Lots

Hi Kathy!
I hope that you are feeling better today. I know what you are saying about the medical system. It is starting to make me mad too. One would think the the doctor who saw you about your kidney tests would be able to be "reminded" somehow that you are a Type 1 (checked kidneys might be a clue), hear you coughing, and think to themselves something along these lines, "Infections aren't good for diabetes, they are painful for a regular person, and for a person with diabetes, an infection could linger, and cause other problems like stress and pain and high BGs. You would think!
I have noticed that there is some kind of "revolving door" thing going on, where they are so overbooked that they just want to deal with one thing at a time, if you are there for test results and you cough, it is almost like you are ruining their schedule. What does that have to do with healing?
I have also noticed that primary care is not a person's doctor, now they are more like an organizer, they basically send you off to many other doctors, each one specializing in a different body part, organ or problem, and then collect all the tests and care for you based on all the gathered information. The problem with that is that you have to tell each doctor your problem, which most likely deals with more than one body system. They are so specialized that they never see a person, never hear the "story" and so what happened to you, ignoring you cough, becomes very likely. By the time you go all over the place getting seen you are just sicker from all the running around.

The system is much too mechanical. Not to mention that by farming you out for every different thing, they make a lot of money on each of those individual tests and visits, and they really never once look at the whole person. As in your experience this time, you had a lot of medical care, but guess what? You are still sick, because they basically prolonged the problem by not treating it right away and probably made you worse by making you run all over the place for appointments when you were not feeling well and made you worse! They made a lot of money doing it.
I had bronchitis and I ended up seeing about four doctors, primary care, then one for allergies, one for Ear, Nose and Throat, they did tests on my lungs, an x-ray, a breathing test, a scope of my throat, and then a CAT scan of my neck and lungs! How much money did that make them? I was on antibiotics for three rounds, 30 days, and even I know from the Web that if the first round doesn't work, the rest won't either. Finally after all that "medical care" I got pneumonia, ended up in ER with yet another doctor who gave me a steroid shot and 9 days of prednisone that finally cleared up the lungs, but by then my stomach was so messed up by all the antibiotics that I had GERD, supposedly, and they wanted me to go to a gastro doctor for an endoscopy!

I told them to stuff it, went to the drug store, got some Prevacid OTC and was fine with my stomach in four days. I believe throwing tons of antibiotics at a diabetic is stupid, making a sick person run around all over the place when they belong at home to rest makes things worse, plus it irritates the hell out of me how much money they make with all these procedures and tests.
I am starting to think of from now on when I get sick, just staying home and drinking a lot of liquids and chicken soup, I would have get better a lot sooner. Ugh, what a vent.
I am really sorry that you didn't get a chance to go to the concert. I hope that you enjoyed your exotic fruits though. What kind did you get? I bet your neighbor was thrilled about going, how did they say it was?
I hope that you get better really soon and I am so sorry that you had to get the run around. I hope that you get better for Thanksgiving, are you doing anything special? Sending lots of healing vibes your way. Ellen

Good Morning,Kathy. You must have cabin fever if you have not been out for a month. I think it is wise to stay in and get yourself better. I am in tough shape. I have been up all night with these darn knees. I hate the thought of going to bed. The pain is so bad I could cry. Tom was out of the house at 5AM he is running a half marathon. He will be frozen as it is windy cold and a light drizzle. NIGHTS OF LIGHTS started last night. Streets were blocked off. It is a big tourist attraction. We will go in next weekend. It runs until Jan 31. We got the grille. Poor compact than the old one with a lot of bells and whistles. Take good care of yourself. Keep warm. HUGS,Reed
