Hi Kathy, I am enjoying the Christmas sunrise, it is all pink and blue. I hope that you are feeling better today and enjoy your movie and popcorn. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas form my home to yours.
Hi Kathy, I am so glad that you are feeling better today. I really enjoyed meeting you this year as well! I did just get back from shopping and boy am I tired out now, but the nice kind. I am glad that I had my 20 year old son with me to lead me around through the crowds, I would have been a goner without him. My eyes are bad right now. I had cataract surgery about two years ago and the right eye didn't work out right. The lens they put in is crooked because some cells have grown on it and pushed it out of place. I need to go get them lasered off. Meanwhile after two years with the same glasses I need stronger ones as well, but don't want to buy any until my surgery is done and my eyes are completely healed and then I will smack down the big bucks they want for glasses today. Meanwhile I am wandering around like a granny, everything is blurry. For work I need a really strong pair of reading glasses for the computer, and switch to my transitionals when I leave my desk, but have a hard time, walking into things all the time!!! It is embarassing! It will take awhile to get the surgery done because the eye will change while it heals and take about three months to heal. Anyway, I felt safe with Jesse with me and he drove. I saw on Don's page that your grandaughter (?) is Chinese, so is my son. Well, hope that you are in top shape for tomorrow. Keep warm and take good care. Lots.
Thank you for the Christmas good wishes ♥ The whole day so far has been devoted to baking, and wrapping....with an unscheduled visit from guests. Will be heading off to our kids' in a bit....just taking a break to catch my breath!! Many Blessings to you, now and for 2012 ♥
Much luv.....linda
Hi Kathy, thanks so much for sending me this message!
Anita's tick bite occurred shortly before we took our trip, but there was very little evidence then. When we got home there was a big red splotch, about 8 inches across. She was examined and given a medication, which she took for 21 days. The redness was gone and everything was normal then. While we were in MN she was having chills, shaking at night, and did not feel well on the trip. She held all of that back, and never complained until the day we started home. She knew how much the trip meant to me and did not want to ruin it for me. I would have taken her to a doctor in MN and then had an early flight home.
We are fine here, I hope you are doing well! I have had Facebook chats with Sue a few times. She looks so good for someone with 48 years of T1. She had the black poodle watching after her while we were there.
We had about two inches of snow in Oct, but none since. It has been in the 40s here most days for the past several weeks. That is not at all like it used to be in the 1970-1990 era.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!
Morning,Kathy. Oh,no,you got this bug too. It sure hangs on. I am doing pretty well. Russ I see no improvement. Keep warm drink fluids snuggle in a warm blanket. Right now the thought ofcooking Chrismas dinner bores me. This, too, will pass. PLEASE take good care of yourself. Thinking of you get better soon. HUGS,Reed
Hi Kathy, I hope you are feeling better soon, how awful about what happened to you at the urgent care. You probably got sicker waiting around all that time when you shoud have been resting. I hope that medication works fast and you have a decent holiday. I did not get sick this year and I didn't take the flu shot either. Must be my Irish blood. Feel better, Merry Christmas Eve for us in two and a half hours. Wild shopping at the mall is planned for me and the family tomorrow.
The pictures look great. Actually I am doing fair. My right hip seems to have decided to check out and write home for a replacement. I get it on January 9. In the meantime, I am spending almost every waking moment on my dissertation. I nearly complete with the first draft of chapter 3, then it goes off to the land of oz for review, and a stern warning of all the things i did wrong. lets hope it is few.
Frankly the whole effort has left me exhausted. I started a new RA med and it is working about as well as the last one i just left, which is not much at all and my hands and left foot are so swollen i look like a man who got hit by a truck.
The whole adventure leaves me even more determined to get this thing done in 2012. But at this point I have the roughest patch behind me. Three of the five chapters is a good start even if it is just a first start draft.
Hi Kathy. I did not get hit as hard as Russ. He really scared me. He started shaking wildly. I had never seen that before. I called Tom and God love him he left work drove over 1 1/2 ride took Russ to doctor. He was almost in a collapse mood. He is in bed now. I am staying clear as I do not want to get anymore than I have. They want him to have a Cat scan. He has been complaining about his stomach test after test..answers...constipation ARTHR RITE IS I never heard of that and now Neuropathy. I begged him to get a second opinion. He goes 12/29. I am sorry I have neglected but as the old Maine saying goes "I HAVE BEEN RIGHT OUT STRAIGHT," Tom comes tomorrow and will be here until after New Years. You going to have a White Christmas? Take care of yourself and I am so happy you are my friend. HUGS,Reed
Kathy, Thanks for the Solstice greeting. Hope today goes well for you too. Sorry to hear you are unsettled. Next time at the pet store have a look at Boa Constrictors, at least you will have an hour to get out of harm's way ha ha!!! Kona is very nice looking and will likely be a big boy in a year or so. My former cat friend Hairy was 17 pounds but my current love Miss Kitka is only 8 pounds and 4 years old now.

Good Morning,Kathy. I slept until 5 tossed and turned so I got up. I think I might be getting a cold. I never get them. The NOVOLOG makes me so hot. The endo said it might be reacting to my non-diabetic medications. I have to stay on it as my APIDRA no longer available in the pen. He cut the units taken back so I will see if that helps. Thank you so much for the nice card and your Christmas letter. I enjoyed reading it and admire your courage in going through all you have and you still have a big smile. TOPS tomorrow. I am playing Dr. Oz. I hope they listen and learn. Any SNOW yet? You have a great day. HUGS,Reed
