thank you patti, that welcome was very kind of you.thanks again for adding me as a friend.
Hi Patti, thanks. I've been a big fan of Manny's for a while. He launched just prior to our launch of SugarStats.com. Just getting active in this community as a parent of a diabetic.
I will add my photo Monday when I'm back at work. I've been searching my whole diabetic life for a good support group and have never really found a group that worked. Thanks to the internet I think I might be able to finally find others like me who just want to talk about all this stuff.
hello Patti,
thak you for the welcome. I am a slow learner, so it may take me a while to post before I learn how to navigate around this sight. Bear with me!

Thanks for the welcome note. The "negative" attitude I have about this diabetes mess has been with me for a year now, since I learned that I have diabetes. My diet was already limited because of gastrointestinal problems, and, now with diabetes, it's even limited further. Basically, anything I eat makes me sick, so I just drink Diet Shasta Cola (sweetened with Splenda) and coffee (sweetened with Splenda) and an occasional piece of multi grain bread.
Additionally, as I mention on my page, the metformin that I am taking makes me smell SO bad that I can't even sleep in the same room as my wife. The smell comes out of my pores, my breath, everywhere! I can't even stand being near myself! It's disgusting! Since there's no other medication for people with type 2 diabetes, I'm stuck with this, and, to tell you the truth, it SUCKS. I'm not happy about it at all. I don't know how any amount of encouragement from a peer group will change that. The smell will remain, and I remain isolated from even my own family because of it. Without medical insurance, I'm stuck with what I have, so that's where I am.
Thx for welcoming me and for the picture tip... Uploaded it in the wrong place first, no idea how to remove it, lol, but found the right way to upload it too...
