Hello Doris. I do the Birthdays and Welcomes to keep my sanity. The moaning and groaning kees me awake. Poor guy he cannot help it. I think PERCOCET is strong it kind of knocks him out. The black on the hip area bothers me. Is it the COUMADAN or could it be internal bleeding. That dctor uyesterday said he didn't know..isn't that something. I firmly believe when you are in the high 80's they want to get rid of you..give you a pill. Now he has a bursar on his elbow that is very painful. I made a sling for him. I am doing ok but tired. MY BG 109. I hope you and Ken doing well. I feel like Florence Nightingale. Have a good day. HUGS,Reed
Hello Doris. What a day. Whatever is bothering Russ no one knows. Today he could not get out of bed. His hip all black and blue. He is a big man. I tugged and oulled and finally got him up. He was in agony with the pain. He called the Neurologist who said come right in. Sum and subtance it is all caused by his back ruptured discs...had for years. The doctor said yu should have had back surgery years ago but at 86 and congestive heart failure NO Surhery. Put him on PERCOCET. I guess when old the cannot do much for you. He is running me ragged. He won't go to Rehab or some place until he gets better. How are you and Ken doing? I hope good. Have a wonderful evening. HUGS,Reed
Hi Doris. I read your post, and I must say that your father said one of the most hurtful remarks I've ever heard. On the other hand, maybe also one of the most ignorant. We're so well educated here on TuD that such ignorance seems shocking. I am sorry you have had to live with that kind of remark ever since.
Here's a story from my childhood: my maternal grandmother had a gallstone that plugged up her pancreas, giving her diabetes of course. Mom took care of her, and it was so awful that my mother never considered either Type 1 or 2 to be real diabetes! Leaves me with all kinds of mixed feelings, not the least of which is gratitude that now people with Grandma's condition get appropriate treatment.
IT'S OK I DON'T BELIEVE I'M 78 EITHER EXCEPT WHEN MY PROBLEMS CREEP UP... LIKE MY GASTRO INTESTINAL WORRIES DUE TO T1 OR WHAT EVER .75 YEARS T1...CAN'T BELIEVE IT!
Hi Doris. Thanks for commenting on my "Heroes" blog. My parents were heroes, too, but with a different condition -- Arthrits Heroes. I got Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at 12 y.o., and for years I had frequent long stretches of needing bed care. It wasn't easy for them, but by golly, I'm still walking!
Hello Doris. Not a good day. Russ in pain. He is black and blue from his ankle to his hip lrft leg. What is that all about? My knees are so painful I was lucky to make church. Going to call tomorrow to see if is time for SUPARTZ again 1 injection a week for 5 weeks. You should see the two of us on walkers like a roller derby. Gorgeous day here. No rain. I just feel lousy. This too will pass. How are you doing> I hope well and Ken too. Tom just left. We went out to dinner last night> russ was uncomfortable. I think we better wait until je gets stronger before we go out again. Take gppd care both of you and have a good evening. Take care. HUGS,Reed
Hi Doris, I am happy when my brain works at all, LOL. I am feeling better, I was feeling pretty bad but I have made a lot of improvements. Things getting better every day. Thanks for asking! Hope you are doing better today too. It is heating up here now. I wonder if your weather is coming our way?
Hey Doris, I'm back home. Well just for a minute that is. When Micah and I got home I had to call 911 for him. He had a pain in his right side, stomach and back and had a fever of 101.9. The doctors in the ER think it maybe his appendix. They are doing a CAT scan now. I just had to pick up somethings from the house.
Hello Doris. I was right behind you this morning doing the Welcomes then it was all down hill. Headache upset stomach my knees killing me. It could be the pollen. Russ got a bill for the ER for $1400. His plan says n NO CHARGE if admitted and he was for 4 days. I think these folks think insurance companies pay as soon as they get the bill. I have never had trouble with Russ's insurabce. How are you feeling? I hope Ken is doing well too. I an just not up to writing to everyone today. Take good care Both f you. HUGS,Reed
Hi Doris, so more PT for you? I hope that you get stronger each and every day. Humid and hot is definitely no fun. I kind of melt in that kind of weather. Right now it is perfect here. I could have ordered up a bunch of nicer weather. How is your husband doing? I see that you have added some new pictures of the kids. Nice! Good Luck with getting better soon.
