Lol! awww I have chinchillas ;) I'm a huge animal lover. I was on the minimed pump. I just didn't do great on it. I gave it two yrs. Now tht I'm back on injections I have gotten better control. But sometimes I feel like my body rejects insulin sometimes. Sounds crazy but I've had a few times where I wld correct n id stay the same number! Its fustrating. N makes no sense....
I'm off the pump n back on injections..I'm the odd case tht seems to stay more in control this way. lol I have the novalog flex pen for fast acting n lantis for my night shot. sometimes the weirdest things happen tht totally throw me off w diabetes. what pump r u on?
Good Morning,Doris. Everything here has been so doom and gloom should I lie and say everything is wonderful? Russ;s COUMADAN was 5.2 and it should be 2. No wonder he was turning black and blue, He goes back Friday. Tom is on his way he will be here until Tuesday. Russ can hardly walk depends on the walker. My knees are bad but I can stand it. My BG102. I lost 5 pounds at TOPS too much. Glad you have no more pt. Can you do just about everything nw or does it hurt when you raise your arm? How is Ken doing> Give him my best.A GOOD LAUGH IS LIKE MANURE TO A FARMER IT DOES BOT DO ANY GOOD UNTIL YOU SPREAD IT AROUND. HUGS,Reed
That's okay. How could you have if he didn't say anything about hurting. When we got home he told me about the high bgs. Then like a few sec later he is in my room telling me he is in pain. So to the ER we went.
Hello Doris. I do the Birthdays and Welcomes to keep my sanity. The moaning and groaning kees me awake. Poor guy he cannot help it. I think PERCOCET is strong it kind of knocks him out. The black on the hip area bothers me. Is it the COUMADAN or could it be internal bleeding. That dctor uyesterday said he didn't know..isn't that something. I firmly believe when you are in the high 80's they want to get rid of you..give you a pill. Now he has a bursar on his elbow that is very painful. I made a sling for him. I am doing ok but tired. MY BG 109. I hope you and Ken doing well. I feel like Florence Nightingale. Have a good day. HUGS,Reed
Hello Doris. What a day. Whatever is bothering Russ no one knows. Today he could not get out of bed. His hip all black and blue. He is a big man. I tugged and oulled and finally got him up. He was in agony with the pain. He called the Neurologist who said come right in. Sum and subtance it is all caused by his back ruptured discs...had for years. The doctor said yu should have had back surgery years ago but at 86 and congestive heart failure NO Surhery. Put him on PERCOCET. I guess when old the cannot do much for you. He is running me ragged. He won't go to Rehab or some place until he gets better. How are you and Ken doing? I hope good. Have a wonderful evening. HUGS,Reed
Hi Doris. I read your post, and I must say that your father said one of the most hurtful remarks I've ever heard. On the other hand, maybe also one of the most ignorant. We're so well educated here on TuD that such ignorance seems shocking. I am sorry you have had to live with that kind of remark ever since.
Here's a story from my childhood: my maternal grandmother had a gallstone that plugged up her pancreas, giving her diabetes of course. Mom took care of her, and it was so awful that my mother never considered either Type 1 or 2 to be real diabetes! Leaves me with all kinds of mixed feelings, not the least of which is gratitude that now people with Grandma's condition get appropriate treatment.
