Do you mean the gulags....I'm sorry. They were a form of (futile)hard labour camps in communist Russia, for anyone who may have ruffled the feathers of the "powers that be". Read "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich" by Alexander Solzhenitsyn. Powerful. Which is also what sent Solzhenitsyn to hard labour in the gulags, as a means of censorship.
Thanks so much for welcoming me, Doris!!! Thanks for the add, too!!! I look forward to being able to talk to so many people who are "like me" (well, there's only one "me"... and for a very good reason, LOL ;) I'm a PITA!) anyway, you know what I mean, ha ha ;) I'm constantly on Facebook... but may just end up switching to tudiabetes.org... we shall see!!! Thanks again! HUGS!!! XOXO <3
Day went really good...aside for me doing the laundry... Tomorrow is Valentines day! I am free from all house works! LOL I wish! I'm making a special breakfast for hubby tomorrow. Then Church and we will take out Mom for lunch. Dinner however is just me and my husband...Im not sure yet what our plans are...he usually keeps it a surprise until evening.
Doris - don't delete too many things! sometimes when I'm really missing Sandy, I go back to her page and look at some of the things she wrote, and I feel her with me (I can't believe it's almost a year since she's gone!)
Can't decide what we're doing today - Ed just put in a load of laundry, so I guess we'll be doing that for a while. my hand is bothering me again. #bgnow 168
Thank you, My son Anish is 9 years old. He was diagnosed after Christmas. I am still under shock. Anish does not mind the finger pricks, he does not like the shots , especially Lantus at night. Looking forward to get a pump.
I'm not computer savvy...LOL "tried" to upload a photo and couldn't LOL I'm 40 now; was 8 when I was diagnosed....LONNNNNG story....how about you? You had the syringes that had to be boiled, right? I got into the scene when disposables had come out! LOL
oh, Doris, if you look closely at the screenshot that the "mashable" guy used for his post about TuDiabetes and non-profits, you will see that YOUR profile picture is in the upper left corner where the "members" are! so, you are almost famous! lol!
Doris, we may soon have a flurry of new members - did you read this? This guy who wrote it is a really big deal - he has almost 2 million followers on Twitter - lots of people listen to him. I'm so happy for our family getting recognized! such an honor.
