Thank you, Doris.

I may be a "Lurker" for a while, as I read through all this great info.

Morning Doris D....I was able to find a provider for insulin under Medicare Part B thanks to a member named Betty J. I phoned them. The name is OPTUMRx 1-866-208-7707. They had no problem with my request; however they stated that AFTER June 1st they will no longer take requests for testing supplies. The reason is related to the "July 1st" date. According to the person I spoke to the date has to do with "Competitive Bidding". Anyway...OPTUMRx will continue to provide the insulin for the pump.

Thanks for the kind welcome from all the folks. I Just found the site yesterday when I was looking for Medicare Part B provider for the Novolog I use in my pump. Hurray!!! Thanks to Bettty J I was able to connect with OptumRx at 1-866-208-7707. It was no problem for OptumRx however they did state that after July 1st they would no longer be furnishing diabetic supplies. Does anyone know what's happening July 1st? I've seen it mentioned several times but don't know what it's about.

Thank you Doris I really like this site. Just what I needed to see how others are doing their lives and on insulin and stuff. I've only had this for three years and spent the winter coming out of the honeymood phase. I made it. My numbers are good and steady at this time..

Hi Doris;
This is Gigi60 and I wanted to say thank you for leaving me your comment and to let me know where you live. that was a very nice way to welcome me to the page. I am really so overwhelmed with this whole thing with my husband having type 2 diabetes; but I really shouldn't be since my Mom had diabetes before she passed away from congestive heart failure and we took care of her. Then I have my own health issues to deal with; cancer returned and now I have found out that I also have reh. arthritics on top of every thing else. Going to get through this; because we have to deal with this and will be okay. Again thanks for sending me the message and welcoming me to the group.
