Got good news, bad news from the endo. A1c was 5.6! Antibodies present, T1 confirmed.

Thanks, Peetie! It is bittersweet. What's really good, so far, is my diet & exercise have been doing a great job in maintaining good numbers. With my endo's consent, I stopped my minimal dosage of metformin almost two weeks ago. Saw a small increase, not too much higher, for the first few days, but now they are basically back to where they were two weeks ago. Definitely not happy knowing insulin treatment is in my future with an unknown start date.
