Live interview with Francine Cabrera, RN, CDE

Francine Cabrera RN, BSN, CDE, WOCN has been a registered nurse for more than 20 years and a certified diabetes educator for the past ten. With experience in hospitals, home health and outpatient care, she is currently a representative of the Diabetes Interactive Network offering educational classes about diabetes care and nutrition for people living with diabetes and for professionals involved in the treatment of type 1 or type 2 diabetes.

In 2012, Francine worked with Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Eli Lilly and Company to launch My Well Planner, a new online program aimed at helping people with type 2 diabetes improve their habits, management, and health outcomes. Francine is passionate about this program, and its potential to help keep people with type 2 healthy.
Previously, Francine worked as a homecare nurse for people living with diabetes and served as the Diabetes Program Director for Philadelphia’s Parkview Hospital, where she wrote and developed the hospital’s diabetes program, which received American Diabetes Association (ADA) recognition.
Francine completed post-graduate studies at LaSalle University and is a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators and Pennsylvania Nurses Association.
