Hello Alissa, I am happy to see that you have success with MDI. I am convinced that MDI has a huge potential space that needs to be explored before the pump comes into play. There are patients that can not reach good control without a pump but this is rare. At the end this boils down to some advantages of the pump that must be weighted with some drawbacks. I am using MDI too but I always wanted to have some of the benefits of pumping. For example I am glad that a pen like the NovoPen Echo now offers 0.5 units. I am also glad that two shots of Levemir give me a smooth basal coverage for the day. Furthermore I have created the Glucosurfer project for smart phones and even ordinary phones. This project will give every diabetic on MDI some very important tools at hand: digital log, bolus calculator, insulin on board, extended analysis of data. I would be very happy and honoured if you had the time to test this for yourself and to vlog your experiences. Maybe you have a Windows Phone, an Android Phone, an iPhone or even a wap capable phone at hand. Please let me know, Holger.
