My diabetes nightmare - Making Sense of Diabetes (touch)

Sorry if this video scares out some of you. I had to share it...

I just woke up from this nightmare, perhaps because I had been thinking about this in connection with the Making Sense of Diabetes contest for a few days.

Fear can motivate... no matter what they say :)! Take one day at a time, keep doing what you are doing and you will live a long & healthy complication free diabetic life my friend.

If the volume sounds low, click on the little speaker symbol while hovering on the video. That lets you raise the volume.

This is hard to listen to, but at the same time is compelling and delivers an important message.

I know... I know. I watch the video again and I even bring myself down! :*(

It was just a way to get it off my chest. It was a bad nightmare.

Dude, you're bringing me down. My endo always does the foot exam. (I 'touched' on this in the Diabetes Touch video.)

Go back to sleep. Your feet will be good to you if you're good to them.

powerful. My doctor always does the filament - not just on the bottom of my feet, but on top and sides of many toes. Being a member of TuD has helped me remember to wear at least slippers around the house, and Ed and I check each other's feet more often (my husband is type 2)

Good point! Probably it would be better to say, elevated blood sugar values sustained for very long periods of time = uncontrolled?

Manny thanks for sharing this personal video. I have never had a dream like that before but the serious nature of living with diabetes is always present in my mind. Like you said uncontrolled diabetes can lead to serious problems. I have always wondered what exactly is "uncontrolled" diabetes.
