Caleb describes how the taste of toothpaste sometimes makes him feel low.
There are times when Caleb has a low before going to bed. He eats something to treat it and then has to brush his teeth. He is brushing his teeth while still feeling low.
As a result, there are times when Caleb brushes his teeth and the taste of the toothpaste reminds him of the other times when he was low. He associates that taste with the feeling of low even when his blood sugars are in range.
It's like the bells and Pavlov's dogs.
