Thank you so much @WestOfPecos I really appreciate your kindness & support!
There have actually been many occasions where by having a motivational letter by your doctor submitted to the insurance company, they will make an approval because of that, but I did ask about that and they still said no. I went back to the company that sells the dexcom here in SA (Ethitech) and I gave them my long sob story about how I almost died and really needed to get this, and they actually gave me the details of which insurance company, which plan, contact details and everything that would actually cover this device & all its maintenance expenses in full.
So this is something else to consider now and something I still need confirmed by this insurance company, but this insurance company is practically double what I'm paying now every month (for those in South Africa looking at this - ZAR3500 per month with a company called Discovery), but on the big plus side is that they really do pay for everything then, all my specialist doctor visits, blood tests, the dexcom device, any other diabetic device actually and a huge amount of other things, theres really not one other medical expense that I would ever have to incur, all of which I currently pay for out of pocket for because my insurance won't cover it.... which as I'm talking about this I'm beginning to realize that maybe I didn't choose the best insurance company at all, because I spend a huge amount of money on diabetic expenses every year.
So I'm going to dig a little deeper into this option, I also still need to speak to my doctor about all of this which I will be doing at my next check up in about 2 weeks time, I just wanted to get a jump start on it cause I wanted to be well prepared when I went in to see my doctor.
